At these informal and musically rewarding events, choral singers from Worcester and beyond are invited to show up, grab a score that will be provided, and sing through a famous choral masterwork together. June 5 will be the Mozart Requiem; June 12 will be the Fauré Requiem with guest conductor Dr. Joshua Rohde; June 19 will be selections from Credo, The Ballad of the Brown King, and other works by Margaret Bonds; and June 26 will be Vivaldi's Gloria.

First Unitarian Church of Worcester is hosting a series of free "Totally Organ-ic!" concerts featuring our two spectacular organs. On June 22, we are excited to be welcoming organist Jeremy Bruns for a solo recital. Bruns will offer a virtuosic program with music from a variety of countries and time periods. Featured composers will include J.S. Bach, Dutch composers J.P. Sweelinck and Ad Wammes (born 1953), American jazz pianist George Shearing (1919-2011), as well as composers from the United Kingdom and France. Named “a coolly aristocratic player” by The Dallas Morning News, Bruns has been heard on the nationally syndicated radio show Pipedreams, BBC Radio, and the Pro Organo label. He serves as the Director of Music and Organist at Parish of the Epiphany (Episcopal) in Winchester MA. Reception to follow. This concert has been sponsored by a grant from the Worcester Arts Council and the Massachusetts Cultural Council. Parking is available in the church parking lots on State St; the side door on the lower lot is an accessible entrance.

Daniel Brondel, Associate Director of Music at St2. Patrick's Cathedral in New York, brings a program he has entitled "Timeless Echoes: The Art of the Pipe Organ". Included in the program are Bach's Toccata and Fugue in D Minor, Messiaen's Apparition de l'Église Éternelle, Barber's Adagio for Strings, and Brahms' Hungarian Dance No. 5 in F-sharp Minor.

First Unitarian Church of Worcester is hosting a series of free "Totally Organ-ic!" concerts featuring our two spectacular organs. On June 29, we are welcoming Jennifer McPherson Mulhern to perform a concert of all works by American Women Composers. Included will be selections from Florence Price's First Sonata for Organ as well as Brenda Portman's Diptych. Jennifer McPherson Mulhern serves as Director of Music and Liturgy at St. John’s Episcopal Church in Portsmouth, New Hampshire, the oldest and largest Episcopal Parish in the state. She graduated cum laude from the College of the Holy Cross, where she held the prestigious position of Organ Scholar. She received her Master of Music in Historical Performance from Oberlin Conservatory of Music. At St. John’s, Jennifer oversees a vibrant music program for all ages, conducts the Parish Choir, and plays the three-manual Létourneau organ. She teaches private organ lessons at Phillips Academy in Andover, Massachusetts. She has been awarded prizes in multiple competitions, including the International Organ Competition Jan Pieterszoon Sweelinck in Amsterdam. Reception to follow. Winchendon Winds, a 40-piece professional wind ensemble, joins forces with a pipe organ for their final concert on Sunday, June 29. They'll “pull out all the stops,” quite literally, with a concert featuring the church's 1868 E. & G.G. Hook pipe organ. International pipe organist Peter Krasinski will perform with the band on Tarot, King of Cups (an original work by Dr. Bronnenkant), Phantom of the Opera, and the bombastic finale to Saint-Saens’ Symphony No. 3 (“Organ Symphony”). This is a concert not to be missed and a rare opportunity to hear wind ensemble, pipe organ and grand piano all playing together. Concerts are free, thanks to generous grants and donations. Refreshments will be sold on the lawn. Spend a lovely summer afternoon listening to one of the best wind ensembles in the region!

Nathan Skinner is Director of Music and Organist at historic Park Street Church on Boston Common. As a child, he was struck by the imposing pipe facade pictured on one of his father's organ CD, "The Great Organ at Methuen". So this concert is the fulfillment of a lifelong fascination with the instrument. His program is entitled "From Old World to New" with compositions ranging from Bach to Bernstein. In recognition of Independence Day, the program concludes with an audience sing-along of "My Country 'Tis of Thee" and Charles Ives' Variations on "America".

Methuen Memorial Music Hall welcomes Dr. Seung Hee Cho to the 2025 Summer Series. Dr. Cho is Music Director and Organist at St. Paul's United Methodist Church in Rochester, MI. She is also the artistic director of "Harmony in the Hills", a concert series for the Southeast Michigan community. A concert organist, church musician, chamber collaborator, and conductor, she adapts her refined artistic flair to a plethora of traditional and modern selections.

As performer for the Willoughby Frederick and Emma Jacobson Watts Memorial Concert, Jennifer Pascual presents a program "Connecting Massachusetts to the World", with works by Creston, Bach, Clark, Yon, Callahan, Marier, Wood, Abbott, and Stanford. Dr. Pascual hosts a weekly radio show called "Sounds from the Spires" on SiriusXM Satellite Radio. She has performed in Austria, Belgium, Canada, Ireland, Israel, Italy, Jordan, Lebanon, Palestine, the Philippines, Poland, Russia, Spain, and the USA.

Experience the “sheer physical thrill of a live performance” (Gramophone) of?Gustav Mahler’s monumental?Symphony #2: Resurrection, performed by world-renowned choir Gloriæ Dei Cantores and Creare Symphonia, joined by soloists Martha Guth (Soprano) and Kathryn Leemhuis (Alto), under the direction of Richard K. Pugsley. Musicians across America will come together to create a force of over 150 musicians for this unique performance. The ensemble will be joined by the church’s “fabled” (Boston Musical Intelligencer) surround-sound St. Cecilia organ, and performed in the “acoustical marvel” (American Record Guide) of the Church of the Transfiguration in Orleans, celebrating the 25th anniversary of the church’s dedication (2000-2025).
