Cathedral Organ Celebrates 149 Years – Fundraising Concert: February 23, 2025 at 3 p.m.BOSTON — The Cathedral of the Holy Cross celebrates 149 years since the dedication of its principal organ, the 101-rank E. & G. G. Hook & Hastings opus 801, on February 23, 1876.
To honor the instrument’s birthday, several of New England's notable organists will perform variety of works by on the historic pipe organ of 5,298 pipes.

Internationally renowned organist Diane Meredith Belcher will present a recital on the restored Brombaugh organ, op.21. Ms. Belcher will perform works by Bach, Buxtehude, and Sweelink including Bach’s Great Prelude and Fugue in A minor. Stefan Maier undertook the restoration of Opus 21 in collaboration with Taylor and Boody under the guidance of John Brombaugh. Mr. Brombaugh quotes, “The triplets, opus 20, 21 and 22, are three of my best instruments,” to which Ms. Belcher adds, “The restoration of Opus 21 along with the chapel’s excellent acoustics make it a joy to play.” Please attend this unique event and support the choral scholar program at St. Mark’s Episcopal Chapel.

Ms. Pan is an organist, pianist, and choral director based in Rochester, New York. She is a native of Connecticut and a graduate of the Hartt School of Music and Yale Institute of Sacred Music. She is a prizewinner in many competitions, including the Audrey Thayer Piano Competition and the Albert Schweitzer Organ Competition. She is also a recipient of numerous scholarships and awards, including the M. Louise Miller Scholarship and the Yankee-Pogorzelski Memorial Scholarship. Mary has served as organist or full-time organ scholar at several churches in Connecticut, as well as at Grace Church in New York City; Saint James Cathedral, Chicago (Episcopal); and Gloucester Cathedral in the United Kingdom. She is a fellow of the Royal College of Organists.

Center Church on the Green, New Haven, is delighted to bring in guests artists from around the world to play our wonderful Charles Fisk Opus 54 organ. We are excited to have Nathan Laube perform a celebrity organ recital on April 6, 2025 at 7:30pm. Nathan Laube is a leading performer and pedagogue who is beloved around the world, and is currently Associate Professor of Organ at the Eastman School of Music.

James Bobb, professor of organ at St. Olaf College, will lead a hymn festival focusing on texts that invoke God’s love, but will also include a local favorite, Marblehead’s Official Town Anthem, “Marblehead Forever”.
